Collins Doxies Policy

We require a
non-refundable deposit for
each puppy.  See deposit
schedule on deposit page.
You can find this by clicking
on forms

We will not ship any animal.

We accept cash or check.
There will be two week hold
on receipt of puppies if a
check is written on an out of
town check. Due to recent
scams, we are sorry but we
are unable to accept a
cashiers check or money
order.

If at anytime you decide you
do not want the puppy, you
contact us first.

All puppies will receive their
first shots and have
de-wormer.

Once we start the breedng
process of a mom, she is
placed on puppy food.  She
will continue on this until the
puppies are born.  Once
she has had the puppies,
we not only feed her dry
puppy food but will
supplement it with a canned
puppy food.   We strongly
believe a strong, healthy
mom will make strong
healthy puppies.
Collins Doxies
I fell in love with "weiner" dogs when I was a very young girl.  I knew
that one day when I grew up, I would have one of my very own.  Well
that happened on Christmas 2005.  My husband brought home
this little ball of energy.  I named her Peanut.  That started our
family and we have continued adding to our family when the
opportunity arises.

We strongly believe that a dog needs a lot of love and attention.
Not to mention being around other dogs and people.  We bring our
dogs into our home for visits.  This keeps them being used to
being inside around a family life.  Our boys, Josh and Jacob, take
an active role in the care of the dogs.

Above all else, we breed dachshunds because we love the breed
and we want everybody who gets a puppy from us love them as
much as we love them.  That is our main focus and goal at Collins
Doxies to have happy and healthy life long friends and also make
some friends along the way.

We have been asked why we breed mini dachshunds.  We do this
because we love them and want to share dachshunds with
everyone.  We do not do this as a means of our primary source of
income.  This is not our full time job.  We both work 40 hours a
week.

Our breeding style is different than most.  We have divided our two
car garage into two main kennel areas.  One for the males and one
for the females.  Each area is divided into one big play area and
two smaller kennels.  We let the dogs roam free in the bigger
areas.  We only use the smaller kennels when someone needs a
time out or when we want to breed a female.  We place the female
and the male together in one of the smaller kennels and let what
will be, be.  We do not believe in force breeding or anything like
that.  If it does not happen then it does not.

We have converted a room in our home that is the nursery.  Our
moms to be and puppies are kept in there.  When we know that a
mom is in labor, we stay with her and help her with the process.
They get a lot of love and support from us during this time.  All of
our dogs are under the same roof as us so that we can keep a
close eye on them.

The world is a better place because mini dachshunds are there.
